Argentine star Lionel Messi has won the league's best player award, becoming the first Inter Miami player to receive this honor for two consecutive years. This is a new achievement added to Messi's seemingly endless list of accomplishments, after he scored 29 goals and provided 19 assists during the regular season. Messi also became only the second player in league history to win the award twice, joining Preki, who won it in 1997 and 2003.
