FIFA Announces Special Fixed-Price Tickets for World Cup 2026

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has announced that fans of the qualified teams for the FIFA World Cup in North America will benefit from a special ticket category at a fixed price of $60 for all 104 matches of the tournament, including the final. This step aims to facilitate travel for fans between host cities. The 2026 World Cup will be the largest edition in history since the tournament's inception in 1930, due to the increase in the number of teams from 32 to 48, with a total of 104 matches instead of 64 in previous editions. The matches will be held in 16 cities across three countries: Canada, the United States, and Mexico. In a statement released on Tuesday, FIFA clarified that this ticket category will be dedicated to 'fans of the qualified teams, with each relevant national member association responsible for managing the selection and distribution process.' FIFA added: 'Each participating national association will determine its own eligibility criteria and oversee the related application process, provided that these tickets are exclusively allocated to fans of their national team.' FIFA also noted that 20 million ticket applications have been registered so far during the current sales phase, which began on December 11 and will remain open until Tuesday, January 13, 2026. 'The timing of a fan's registration during the registration period will have no impact on their chances of success,' FIFA added. The organization also stated that it will grant 'a waiver of the administrative fee for processing refunds for unsuccessful applications' to fans who applied through their national associations and whose teams did not advance to the knockout stages. The upcoming edition, to be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026, has seen increasing demand for ticket purchases since the announcement of the match schedule, dates, and venues.
