English fans criticized FIFA for allocating only 4,022 seats to them for the opening match of the 2026 World Cup against Croatia in Dallas on June 17, despite the country's population of 58.6 million. In contrast, Curaçao, the smallest participating nation with a population of just 156,000, was allocated more seats (4,307) for its opening match against Germany. One fan commented: "We accept that seats will go to American football fans by virtue of the tournament being on their soil, but a small island getting that number of seats? It's unreasonable."
