Carlos Beltrán and Andruw Jones, two center fielders from the Caribbean who excelled both at the plate and with their gloves, have been elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Beltrán became the sixth player from Puerto Rico to end up in Cooperstown, the city in northern New York state where the museum is located that pays homage to the legends of this sport. In his fourth appearance on the ballot, Beltrán received 358 of 425 votes, which is 84.2% from the Baseball Writers' Association of America. The Curaçao native was selected on 333 ballots for 78.4%.
