As reported by the Argentine News Agency, the captain of the Argentine national team was part of the friendly match on Saturday at the Monumental stadium in Guayaquil, where Inter Miami drew 2-2 with Ecuador's Barcelona. In that match, Messi felt discomfort and was substituted in the 13th minute of the second half by the Uruguayan Luis Suárez. Therefore, together with the organization and the club, it was decided to suspend this match. Finally, what seemed to be a simple overload was confirmed to be a tear that will demand 21 days of recovery for the Rosarian. In this regard, the American team's coaching staff, led by Argentine Javier Mascherano, made the decision, in agreement with the star, to preserve him for the next match that was going to take place on Friday against Independiente del Valle in Puerto Rico so that he can recover properly in Miami. Therefore, the organizers of the friendly match on the Caribbean island decided to suspend it, and Messi himself recorded a message for the Puerto Ricans on his Instagram, where he stated: 'The last match in Ecuador I finished with discomfort and that's why I came out before it ended.
