In the 19th minute, the home team created the first dangerous chance as Hany Mukhtar struck a volley, but his shot was blocked by goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair. In the 37th minute, a pass from Sam Surridge set up Warren Madrigal, but his shot was saved by the opposing goalkeeper.
Meanwhile, Lionel Messi had a chance to score. In the 12th minute of the second half, he took a shot from the right flank, but after being saved by goalkeeper Brian Schwake, German Berterama was unable to follow up. In the 36th minute, Alex Muyl's shot went wide of the goal.
