Argentine Red Bull KTM rider Valentín Perrone finished third in the Moto3 United States Grand Prix qualifying and will start the main race from this position on Sunday.

At the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, during the second day of the third round of the Moto3 World Championship, the Argentine Perrone stood out in qualifying, finishing third behind Spanish rider Álvaro Carpe of Red Bull KTM Ajo and Irish rider Casey O'Gorman of SIC58 Squadra Corse.

Perrone achieved this position after a tight finish. In a dangerous move that required the subsequent verdict of the race stewards, he overtook Spanish rider Brian Uriarte. Thus, Perrone set a time of 2m12.526, finishing 419 thousandths behind Carpe, who clocked 2m12.107.

This Sunday at 2:00 PM, the Argentine rider will seek to secure his first victory of the season and in the category, having been on the podium in the first round in Thailand and finishing seventh last weekend in Brazil.

Meanwhile, his compatriot Marco Morelli of CFMoto Aspar Team did not have a good qualifying session, nor did his teammate and title contender, Máximo Quiles, who finished eighth.
