The Microsoft-backed company OpenAI announced on Tuesday the launch of a specialized version of its ChatGPT program for about 500 thousand students and faculty at universities in the state of California.
ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence program capable of supporting conversations and interacting with people in a natural language. The version of ChatGPT designed for educational purposes will provide access to functions aimed at supporting learning and interactions within the educational community.
"We hope that the use of ChatGPT in education helps students and faculty communicate more effectively, exchange knowledge, and create a more productive learning environment," noted company representatives.
According to the developers, the University of California will be given special access to this version of the program to stimulate training and research in the field of artificial intelligence and new educational technologies.
