A United Airlines flight heading to Newark (New Jersey) with approximately 180 passengers had to make an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Monday, less than an hour after its departure. The flight took off from LAX around 10:15 AM (18:15 GMT) and returned less than an hour later, landing at approximately 11:19 AM (19:19 GMT), according to FlightAware. The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed the incident, stating that the aircraft experienced engine trouble. Aerial images from CBS showed passengers evacuating via the emergency slides. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a ground stop at LAX for several hours to evaluate the emergency.
