Shocking Case of Tapeworm Cysts in Florida

Emergency physician Sem Galli from Florida published a photograph of a radiographic image, in which it is seen that the patient's body is completely filled with cysts caused by parasitic infection. This image was described by him as one of the most "baffling radiographic images" he had seen in his medical career, according to information from the publication "Russia Today."

The patient, whose name was not disclosed, was infected in such a way as a result of consuming undercooked or raw pork containing larval cysts. These larvae penetrate into the body tissue, forming cysts that can break down and cause infection.

According to the medical report, the patient did not suspect the presence of cysts in his body and went to the hospital for another issue. Cysts concentrated in the soft tissues of the patient's muscles and legs.

The infection, known as teniasis (a type of tapeworm infection), occurs after consuming undercooked pork containing cystic larvae. This situation serves as a reminder of the importance of personal hygiene, regular hand washing and avoiding consumption of raw or undercooked pork in any circumstances.
