Recently, the "Quick Response Code" (QR code) technology has become widely spread. It represents a digital code in the form of a square matrix barcode. By scanning it with a special scanner or smartphone, information about a product or goods can be obtained. Companies around the world successfully use this modern technology in various areas of life. However, an American research group, specializing in insect science, discovered a new application of QR codes: tracking the behavior and life cycle of bees. Researchers believe that adapting QR code technology opens up possibilities for biologists to study organisms of living beings using previously inaccessible methods, and also apply it in specialized fields, for example, in the production of organic honey.
