A new review of studies has found that taking Tylenol during pregnancy does not increase the risk of autism, ADHD, or intellectual disabilities. This research adds to a growing body of studies that debunk claims made by the administration of former US President Donald Trump. Last year, Trump promoted an unproven link between the painkiller and autism, advising pregnant women: 'Don't take Tylenol.' The latest research review, published two days ago in The Lancet's journal of women's and reproductive health and disease, analyzed 43 studies and concluded that the most rigorous studies, such as those comparing siblings, provide strong evidence that taking the drug known as paracetamol outside the United States does not cause autism, ADHD, or intellectual disabilities. The lead author of the study, Dr. Asma Khalil, stated: 'It is safe to use during pregnancy.'
