An 11-year-old boy in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania faces criminal charges after shooting and killing his father. The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday at the family's home in the town of Duncanville. According to court documents, the boy shot his father after the man confiscated his Nintendo Switch game console. Police found 42-year-old Douglas Dietz dead in his bedroom, which he shared with his wife. The victim's wife, Jillian Dietz, told police she woke up to a loud noise and the smell of gunpowder. When she tried to wake her husband, she discovered he was bleeding heavily. The boy reportedly confessed to opening the gun safe, taking out the pistol, loading it, and then shooting his father as he slept in bed. When asked what he expected to happen as a result of his actions, the boy said, "I was angry and I didn't think about it." The family had celebrated the boy's birthday the night before, singing "Happy Birthday" before everyone went to sleep.
