Washington removed Rodriguez's name from the blacklist, as published on the website of the US Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). The United States had announced two days prior the official resumption of its embassy's operations in Venezuela following nearly seven years of closure. The government of Delsy Rodriguez had decided to 'begin an exploratory diplomatic process with Washington, with the aim of reopening diplomatic missions in both countries,' as announced.
