The Financial Times, citing informed sources, reports that US President Donald Trump threatened to halt weapons supplies to Ukraine to pressure European allies into joining the 'alliance of the willing' to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. According to the report, Trump threatened to stop supplies under a NATO initiative to arm Ukraine with funding from European countries. Earlier on Wednesday, French Navy Admiral Nicolas Vaujour stated that military intervention would eventually be needed to monitor the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, noting there is no evidence of mines in the waterway at this stage.
