US President Donald Trump announced this Saturday that the American Army has begun the process of clearing the Strait of Hormuz, where 28 Iranian ships were destroyed. In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated: 'A large number of completely empty tankers, some of the largest in the world, are currently heading to the United States to load the best and most 'sweet' oil (and gas!)'. 'We are waiting for them. President DJT,' Trump concluded, publishing the message amid negotiations that began in Pakistan. The delegation of the Islamic Republic, led by Parliament Speaker Mohamad Baqer Qalibaf, held a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif after a previous meeting with Army Chief General Asim Munir, to coordinate the technical details of the start of dialogue with the US administration. The Iranian delegation met with Sharif at 13:00 local time, following high-level consultations the previous evening with the Pakistani military leadership. In response, the local leader immediately received US Vice President JD Vance, who is installed with his delegation at the Serena hotel in the capital, the complex designated as the official headquarters for the negotiations.
