Colapinto Shows Strong Start at Las Vegas GP

Argentinian Formula 1 driver Franco Colapinto had a strong start at the Las Vegas Grand Prix after finishing last in the first free practice session, which was the 22nd race of the calendar. In his best attempt, the young driver set a time of 1:36.758 on soft tires and was less than two seconds behind the session leader, Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), in an event covered live by the Argentine News Agency. Meanwhile, Williams' Thai driver, Alex Albon, was the big surprise of FP1 by finishing second to the Monegasque, while Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda (Red Bull) completed the podium. Although the performance of the car driven by the 22-year-old albiceleste driver had not been as expected throughout the 2025 season, the performance of his teammate Pierre Gasly showed that Colapinto did not have the best night. The Frenchman finished in 12th place with a time of 1:35.589 but managed to be fifth for several minutes and showed that the French team's car could fight for points at the Las Vegas Street Circuit. However, the practices serve for the drivers to start getting familiar with the track, so as the main event approaches, which will take place on Sunday at 01:00, the times will improve and the positions will suffer modifications. The Las Vegas Grand Prix will continue this Friday with the second free practice at 01:00 in the morning, while FP3 will be held on the same day, starting at 21:30.
