The number of applications for tickets for the 2026 World Cup, to be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, has reached 500 million, with the registration for the random draw lottery now closed, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has announced. FIFA reported that «within just 33 days, applications were received from fans living in countries and regions of all 211 member national federations under FIFA's umbrella». It was also revealed that «the majority of applications came from the three host countries: the United States, Mexico, and Canada, followed by Germany, England, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, and Colombia».
