The account of the National Basketball Association (NBA) on the Twitch platform was hacked on Tuesday. The hackers used it to stream adult content.
The perpetrators began streaming video during a game between the Golden State Warriors and the Memphis Grizzlies. Initially, the comments were disabled, which made it difficult to detect what was happening. Later, while continuing to broadcast, the hackers enabled chat communication.
The NBA organization reached out to Twitch, and the stream was promptly shut down. Currently, measures are being taken to investigate the incident and clarify the circumstances of the hack.
Such situations raise questions about data security and confidence on streaming platforms. The NBA and Twitch have committed to strengthening safety measures in the future to avoid similar incidents.
