The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has put forward proposals to voluntarily retire some employees of several intelligence agencies. The proposals concern employees of the Central Intelligence Agency, the National Security Agency, and the National Counterterrorism Center. These measures are part of the process of budget reduction and reorganization of the services.
Currently, it is not proposed that this process will lead to layoffs. The proposals were directed to the relevant agency departments and targeted employees who met specific criteria, such as age and length of service. They will be considered individually and will remain voluntary.
"The goal of this process is to most effectively utilize our resources and to align our operational needs," said a representative of the administration.
