Trump Accuses BBC of Corruption

US President Donald Trump launched a new scathing attack on the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), describing it as «corrupt». This coincided with the announcement of the appointment of former Google CEO Matt Brittain as the new director-general of the corporation. Trump accused the BBC of putting «horrible» words in his mouth, stating that «it needs to be taught a lesson», according to the British news agency «PA Media». Trump's remarks came during a lengthy and comprehensive speech he delivered in Washington at a fundraising dinner for Republican members of Congress, before the midterm elections scheduled for next November, in which his party risks losing control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
